Vincent Bal is a filmmaker and illustrator.

In his work he uses the shadows cast by everyday objects to turn the mundane into something magical.
He started creating these shadow doodles, while working on a film script.
He noticed that the shadow of his teacup looked like an elephant, so, he drew eyes and a mouth and shared the photo on social media. People reacted enthusiastically, and so he continued.
In these doodles, a glass of water becomes a pool, a rubber duck becomes a thief in the night, and a roll of film becomes a tower.
A book of his doodles is available to buy, and he also sells prints on Etsy.
